Building Conservation Masterclass

at West Dean College, Chichester

To be held on the 6th – 9th October 2014

Brian Klelund, our CEO  is the Principal Tutor.

The cleaning of masonry buildings has developed as an industry over the past 40 years. During this time there have been successes and failures as the industry and specifiers have made mistakes and gained experience. However even today, damage and disfigurement due to poor cleaning specification and execution is commonplace.

This course provides, over an intensive 3-day period, a good understanding of commercial and specialist techniques available, to enable sensible and informed specifications to be prepared with realistic costs. During the course the participants will see demonstrated and will be shown how to use and apply a wide range of washing, mechanical and chemical cleaning techniques and will be instructed how to programme and carry out essential surface repairs. Materials studied will include a wide variety of building stones, bricks and terracotta.  Participants are invited to present a particular masonry cleaning problem for discussion; pictures, slides and or drawings would be useful.

This course can be booked directly with West Dean College on +44 (0) 1243 811301 or please contact Brian, here at Tensid uk, for further information.   brian@tensid.com  or +44 (0) 1932 564 133
